Our Team

KEY is fortunate to have over 100 amazing volunteers working on a rotational basis.

Many of our volunteers are currently taking part in the Duke of Edinburgh award scheme which we wholeheartedly support and encourage younger volunteers to get involved with.

We also work closely with supporters who provide us with funds, storage space, supplies, collection and distribution of items throughout the various sessions at KEY and across York.

In addition we feel very strongly that the general public are part of the KEY team by responding to appeals whenever asked.

It’s a cold one today and even colder over night this evening 😥

If you see someone sleeping rough please ask them to engage with services to get into accommodation this evening 💖

There are extra provisions in place with SWEP in force from November to end of February in York so there is no reason anyone has to be out in this weather ❄️

They can go along to the Salvation Army on Lawrence street or to the council at West Offices. ... See MoreSee Less

Whilst KEY provide food, clothing, toiletries, food parcels, new home starter packs for those moving into their own properties and much more to the homeless, vulnerable, socially isolated and those struggling financially we also feel we should be providing other services to care for people too ❤️

With this in mind we’ve had Dentaid along twice in the last 6 months and we have them booked in again for early April and 3 more times this year to take care of dental hygiene 🦷

We have also now put into place a podiatrist to start working with KEY once every six weeks at the Spurriergate centre to take care of feet 🦶

The lovely Helga Donaldson MCHS will be heading up this project in conjunction with Forgotten Feet who arrange these types of session across the UK.

We are hugely grateful to Helga for answering our pleas of someone to do this after many months and we can’t wait to start with our first session on Tuesday 22nd January ❤️

By providing healthcare provisions that may not otherwise be available to those in need we are hoping to keep them as healthy as is possible. We will also be looking into other areas of healthcare provision over the coming months so if you or someone you know would like to help us in this area please do get in touch with us 💖

In addition to all of this we love having Street Paws along to Spurriergate twice a month on the first Tuesday and first Sunday of each month to take care of our four legged friends 🐕 🐶

We would like to applaud all the groups in York who provide food and essentials to many people, you’re all doing an amazing job and we love that we work together to achieve the same end goal 💞💖

All of these groups work tirelessly to do what they do week in week ♥️
