Kitchen for Everyone York (KEY) is a registered charity providing meals to those who are experiencing homeless or in need in York on a Wednesday evening and Sunday morning along with a Saturday and Monday evening outreach programme.

Man cooking breakfast

Every Sunday morning we provide breakfast sandwiches of eggs, bacon and sausages for our customers to eat in or take away.

During each service we use over four dozen eggs, three kilograms of bacon and a plethora of sizzling sausages (including vegetarian) along with hot drinks, and cereal.

On a Wednesday evening we offer a hot meal to eat in or take away at St Saviourgate Church.

Each week our amazing volunteers serve a different two course meal ranging from sausages to stew to spaghetti! We also offer a dessert which could be anything from cheesecake to crumble.

If you are in the centre of York on a Saturday or Monday night you might see our Outreach Team and our trolley.

Whatever the weather our volunteers are out 52 weeks of the year providing drinks and snacks along with a supportive ear. Depending on demand these could be hot or cold, with our most popular request being Pot Noodles (we give out over 50 a week)

Additional Services

Whenever possible we also cover the cost of Dentaid which we try and do as often as possible. This mobile dentist provides emergency dental help to those on the streets.

We also support other services such as local food banks when we have surplus stock.
